How to Direct Your Subconscious Mind

Consciousness is always controllable by suggestion. Once we understand this, we can harness its power. Let's clearly define a suggestion before moving forward. Suggestions are anything that hints at the subconscious response you want. Your subconscious records everything you do and think throughout the day. What you do and think all day long is recorded by subconsciousness. When your actions contradict your words, it's your actions that reach your inner consciousness.

What we do, think, or say throughout the day is what subconsciousness absorbs. Therefore, the conditions in which you find yourself today are directly related to your mental images from yesterday. Your current circumstances result from a subconscious reaction to your past mental images. In the same way, the mental images you construct today will determine the course of your future. Changing your mental imagery from negative to positive will set in motion forces that will make your world what you want it to be.

This can be practiced by choosing an objective and imagining it clearly, then following the instructions for transferring it to your subconscious. As a result, your actual experiences will be consistent with your mental patterns.

Always remember:

***If thought is not canceled by contrary thought, action always results, which manifests a mental image created.***

Rather than allowing your mind to drift aimlessly like most people, make a habit of using it creatively in this way. You may even want to write this down on an index card and keep it in your pocket or purse to reread as necessary. You may find negative thoughts attempting to intrude on you, fears about the future, or self-doubt. When this occurs, recite the statement above. Trying to banish negative thoughts from your mind will not be effective in eliminating them. The only way to eliminate darkness is to turn on the light.

If you wish to overcome doubt or pessimism, bring their opposites to the forefront of your consciousness. Spend your energy on developing positive attitudes rather than suppressing negative thoughts. Creating a mental pattern that expresses your heartfelt desire is the best way to protect yourself from negativity and self-sabotage.
